General Information Regarding Volunteering

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR THE FOLLOWING TASKS FOR THE FOLLOWING DAYS:

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24TH: TENT SET-UP AT SHIPYARDS PARK

THURSDAY, JUNE 25TH: TENT AND SITE SET-UP AND DECORATING AT SHIPYARDS PARK

FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY: VARIOUS FUN THINGS TO GET INVOLVED IN. PLEASE NOTE: FOR SECURITY ALL PERSONS AT A LICENSED VENUE MUST BE 19 YEARS OR OLDER! IF THERE IS NO ALCOHOL BEING SERVED THEN IT IS A NON ISSUE.

PLEASE CHECK THE MORE DETAILED SCHEDULE BELOW AND REMEMBER: JUST SIX HOURS OF VOLUNTEER WORK GETS YOU A FREE FESTIVAL PASS! IF YOU WORK ESPECIALLY HARD, THE COORDINATORS WILL NOTICE, AND HAVE BONUS GIFTS FOR YOU!

Schedule of Events for Volunteers

VOLUNTEER JUST SIX HOURS OF YOUR TIME AND EARN A FREE FESTIVAL PASS!

SPECIFIC VOLUNTEER TIMES FOR FESTIVAL:

Wednesday, June 24th

- need volunteers all throughout the day to do the tent set-up

Thursday, June 25th

- need volunteer all throughout the day to help the vendors with tent set-up, and to set up the site and decorations

Friday, June 26, Shipyards Park

- need security from noon to 6 pm (do not need to be 19, as there is no alcohol)

- need security from 6 pm to midnight (must be 19 years of age)

Saturday, June 27, Yukon Arts Centre

- need six volunteers for security: 1 person at each of the main entrances to the concert hall to take tickets, one person at each of the balcony entrances to take tickets, one person to stand guard at the doorway to the green room, one person to stand at the entrance beside the main art gallery. There will be one shift from 10 am to 2 pm, the other from 2 pm to 6 pm.

If you can stay the whole day (six hours) then you will have earned a pass to the rest of the weekend!

Saturday, June 27, Shipyards Park

- need 5 volunteers for face painting between noon and 4 pm

- need a photographer

- need 4 volunteers at the ticket booth

- need 10 volunteers ast the bar and the ticket booth of the bar

- need 5 volunteers to handle the recylcing, keeping the site clean, etc.

- need 10 volunteers for security

- need 2 volunteers to distribute programs

- need 2 volunteers to help artists

- need security from 6 pm to midnight (must be 19 years of age or older)

Sunday, June 28, Shipyards Park

- need people to help clear the park after the Whitehorse Heritage Festival has done it's day program (approximately 5 pm), then we reopen the fencing at 6:45 for the family concert "JouTou"
- need security people (any age) from 7 pm to 10 pm. Contact Deb Jutra at 334-9596

Come to the WHFS Fundraising BBQ on Saturday, June 20th (in front of Walmart) from 11 am to 5 pm, and we will sign you up!
